Intune Enrolment - Apple iPad Devices


Introduction


This user guide describes how to register an Apple iPad device to the Mobile Device Management Platform. 


System Requirements


The following instructions are relevant to Apple devices with an iOS 15 or higher. Please note, certain steps can vary depending on iOS version and model.


Part A

Step (1) Switch-on the device.  On the Hello screen, tap the screen, then tap 'English'.
Step (2) On the Select your Country and Region screen; tap 'Australia' from the list.
Step (3) On the Appearance screen, tap on 'Continue'.
Step (4)  For a new device, on the Quick Start screen tap on 'Set Up Without Another Device'. When transferring from an old device, these steps will vary.
Step (5) Select ‘icare-colleague’ then tap on ‘Next’ on the Wi-Fi network selection screen – you will then need to enter your icare credentials to access Wi-Fi.
Step (6) The iPad will activate and retrieve configurations. Please wait. 
Step (7) On the Data & Privacy screen, tap on ‘Continue’.
Step (8) It is recommended to restore from iCloud if backups were performed on your old device. For a new device, select ‘Don’t Transfer Anything’.

Step (9) On the Remote Management screen, tap on 'Enrol this iPad'.


Step (10) Configuring iPad message will be displayed whilst the device installs the configuration profile on the device.
Step (11) On the Create a Passcode screen, enter a passcode of your choice.

Note: This step will not appear if this functionality was already configured on the device you are replacing.
Step (12) On the Create a Passcode screen, re-enter your passcode.

Step (13) The Apple ID screen will be displayed.

You may choose to enter your Apple ID (optional) or tap ‘Forgot password or don’t have an Apple ID?'

Step (14) On the Apple ID screen, tap on ‘Set Up Later in Settings’. And then tap on ‘Don’t Use’ at the prompt.

Step (15) On the Update Your iPad Automatically screen, tap ’Only Download Automatically’
Step (16) On the Light or Dark Display screen, choose your preferred appearance option, tap on ‘Continue’.
Step (17) On the Apple Intelligence screen, tap 'Continue’.

Step (18) On the Welcome to iPad screen, tap 'Get Started'.


Step (19) To access Corporate Resources, select to open ‘Comp Portal’ and follow instructions in Part B.  Note:   Failure to sign in within 24 hours, the device may require a factory reset.



Part B

Step (1) On the Microsoft Intune Sign In screen; enter your iCare email address in the format below and tap 'Next'
Step (2) Enter your full email address and network password. Tap on ‘Sign In
Step (3) Verify using OTKA. In this instance, Push Notification Authentication is used. Tap on ‘Send Push’. Tap on ‘Enter Code’. Enter the Code that shows above the keypad and tap on ‘Verify’.
Step (4) Verify using OTKA mobile app. A Push Notification is sent to your chosen mobile to accept and confirm the code displayed.
Step (5) On the Get notified screen, tap 'Ok' then 'Allow' .
Step (6) You will be redirected to the screen below for company access setup, tap on 'Begin'.
Step (7) Tap on 'Continue'.
Step (8) Wait on this screen as the company portal configures the device. The screen will redirect once device settings are applied.
Step (9) You're all Set! Tap on ‘Done’.
Step (10) The device is now enrolled. When the survey prompt appears on the screen, tap on ‘Not Now’.

Note: When installing any of the Microsoft Office Suite apps, a Wi-Fi connection is required to install MS SharePoint. You can connect to 'icare-colleague' Wi-Fi network.
Step (11) Return to the Home screen, by swiping from the bottom of the screen upwards. 
Step (12) On the home screen, you will notice the recently installed applications appear along with some corporate applications installed automatically. Tap on 'Outlook' app to setup your email.
Step (14) Outlook will detect your iCare account, when detected, tap on ‘Add Account’
Step (15) Tap ‘OK’ on the security pop-up message. Outlook will restart.
Step (16) Tap on 'Outlook' app to open it again.
Step (17) Tap on ‘OK’.
Step (18) Tap on ‘Turn On’ on the Enable Notifications pop up message.
Step (19) Tap on ‘Allow’ on the Outlook Notifications pop up message. Your emails will load shortly. 



Your device has now been successfully enrolled.
